Man arrested after crashing vehicle into RCMP Quebec headquarters

The Montreal Police is investigating after saying that a man deliberately crashed his vehicle at the headquarters of the Police division of the Canadian Royal in Dorchester Boulevard, in Westmount, west of the center.

The Montreal Police spokesman Jean-Pierre Babant said that a 911 call was made that reported an accident at the main entrance of the building around 9:25 am

The driver of the vehicle, a 44 -year -old man, was arrested but taken to the hospital to be treated by injuries that do not threaten the life suffered in the accident.

Babant said the driver was first seen approaching the building on foot, but finally got into his vehicle and drove “slowly” but at a constant speed, at the entrance.

Police believe that the driver could have suffered mental health problems and said he was possibly in a state of crisis.

While the damage to the building was considerable with the shattered glass at the entrance, Babant said that two RCMP officers who were inside at that time were not injured.

The researchers will question the driver as soon as their health allows it.
