A man accused of throwing a sandwich to a Customs agent and border protection from the USA in Washington, DC, he was accused on Wednesday of assault of a federal officer.
On Sunday night, Sean Charles Dunn stopped near a CBP agent who was patrolling the area at that time, shouting: “F — You! F —- G fascists! Why are you here? I don’t love you in my city”, according to a criminal complaint filed in the federal court in DC in DC.
Dunn is accused of launching the sub-styl sandwich, hitting Lairmore in the chest, minutes after shouting the obscenities.
The complaint refers to a viral video that shows a man repeatedly shouting at the officers, before throwing the sandwich and running down the street while the police chased him. During the processing of the Metropolitan Police Department, Dunn supposedly told an officer: “I did it. I threw a sandwich.”
The US prosecutor of DC Jeanine Pirro said in a video statement published in X that her office was prepared to support the police.
“He thought it was fun. Well, he doesn’t think it’s fun today, because we accuse him of a serious crime: assault on a police officer. And we will support the police on the hilt. So there, he sticks his subway sandwich in another place,” Pirro said.
Dunn faces up to one year in prison.
President Donald Trump has increased the police in the capital of the Nation as part of what has described as an effort to take energetic measures against crime and the lack of housing, even when the Department of Justice reported that the crime rate sank to a minimum of 30 years last year.
Trump federalized the DC Police on Monday and a total of 800 National Guard troops will be expected to be deployed for the end of the week, and some fans with the DC Police on Tuesday.
Trump told journalists on Wednesday that he would present a “crime bill” to Congress, asking him to extend the federal acquisition that expires after 30 days. This effort is not expected to be approved, since it would require the support of the Democrats.
