Navi Mumbai: A 25 -year -old man allegedly murdered his ex -girlfriend, a 22 -year -old girl, cutting her throat with a knife at her home in New Panvel on Friday night.
Shortly after attacking her, the man, Nikesh Shinde, tried to commit suicide in the Women’s House. He underwent surgery due to the injury he suffered, and is recovering in the hospital.
Police said the man had been upset after the ex -girlfriend, Jagruti Satve, had ended his relationship about three months ago and suspected that he was now seeing another man, something he opposed.
The man broke into the woman’s house in the sector-2 around 5.30 pm and had a discussion with her during which she cut her throat with the knife, said an officer.
After attacking the woman, she turned the same knife, cutting her neck and forearm. The injured woman was taken to the Subdistrito hospital in Panvel by her older sister’s friend. It was declared “brought dead” in the hospital. The man has been reserved for murder on the basis of a criminal crime recorded by the sister of the dead woman. The murderer has been recovered by the police.
