New Delhi: A stampery broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, just before the most significant ritual ‘Amrit Snan‘In Mauni Amavasya, which is expected to attract almost 10 million pilgrims around the world.

While the exact number of victims has not yet been confirmed, several injuries and deaths are afraid.
In response to the tragic incident, the Akharas have canceled their traditional ‘Amrit Snan’, although large crowds of devotees continue to take sacred jumps in Sangam and other Ghats within the Mela area.

The incident took place when the massive crowds gathered in the Sangam and along the 12 km stretch of riberies designated for Maha Kumbh.

Cm Adityanath takes a balance of the situation

Akhara suspends ‘Amrit Snan’ after discussions with the authorities

Previously, Puri expressed his sadness for the incident in Sangam, saying: “We are deeply sad for what happened. This is a sacrifice on our part, since we had anxiously anticipated this rare occasion after 144 years. However, we will now take the Amrit Snan on the third date, February 3. ”
Religious leaders have urged devotees to avoid overcrowding in Sangam’s nose and, instead, give a sacred sauce in nearby Ghats.
