New Delhi: A stampery broke out in the early hours of Wednesday at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, just before the most significant ritual ‘Amrit Snan‘In Mauni Amavasya, which is expected to attract almost 10 million pilgrims around the world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi transmitted his condolences for the incident of Stampede in a message posted in X. PM Modi said: “The accident that happened in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is extremely sad. My deepest condolences to the devotees who have lost their beings Dear in this.
While the exact number of victims has not yet been confirmed, several injuries and deaths are afraid.
In response to the tragic incident, the Akharas have canceled their traditional ‘Amrit Snan’, although large crowds of devotees continue to take sacred jumps in Sangam and other Ghats within the Mela area.

The incident took place when the massive crowds gathered in the Sangam and along the 12 km stretch of riberies designated for Maha Kumbh.

Ocular witnesses reported the terrifying moments of the stampede.

Cm Adityanath takes a balance of the situation

Prime Minister Modi took the knowledge of the incident in Maha Kumbh and is closely monitoring the situation. The Interior Minister of the Union, Amit Shah, has also promised the full support of the center.

Akhara suspends ‘Amrit Snan’ after discussions with the authorities

Religious leaders have urged devotees to avoid overcrowding in Sangam’s nose and, instead, give a sacred sauce in nearby Ghats.
Heavy security deployed
A strong police presence has been deployed, including paramilitary forces, at the entrance and exit points near the Triveni Sangam to administer the crowd.
