The tribes of the lower regions of Kurram and Sadda of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa signed a peace agreement on Wednesday for a year in a Jirga held in the Fort of the Sadda Borders Corps attended by many local notables.
In March, tribal leaders in the Kurram district reached an agreement on an eight -month peace agreement ahead of Eidul Fitr. The violence derived from the decades of decades had gained at least 130 lives in the fragile district, with multiple efforts to establish peace between tribes. A high fire agreement was reached after months of conflict in January.
Kurram’s attached commissioner (DC) Ashfaq Khan, who presided over the Jirga, said Dawn.com That after a long situation of law and order in the district, the efforts of the administration, the security forces, the police and the tribal leaders brought positive results and “a peace agreement was signed between the local tribes of Bajo Kurram and Sadda for a year.”
The Jirga was carried out in Fort Sadda FC among the prominent tribal chiefs of the Ahle Sunnat and Tori Bangash tribes, including the participation of the additional DC, the police officers of the security forces and the commissioners attending.
DC Khan said that the tribal elders signed the agreement to the light of the Kohat agreement, and all the conditions of that agreement were considered.
He said that tribal leaders declared that the measure was a “milestone for regional stability” and expected the progress and peace of long data. The security forces, the police and the administration also applauded and recognized their efforts, he added.
The Residents of Topki, Sameer, Gosar, Amal Kot, Gharbena, Sangena, Kandzar, Mengak, Tangoy, Manda, Marokhel and the Suburbs of Lower Kurram and From Sadda, Kochi, Sateen, Shasho, Dararani, Per Qayum, Sakhi Ahmad Shah, bad Kaly, Chakai Kaly, Jan Haji Kaly, Malak Mulajan Kaly, Arawaly, Marokhel, the lower areas Mandori and Adjacentes signed the agreement unanimously.
On the occasion, DC Khan said that the establishment of peace in the valleys of Hussain and Jamil of the Kurram district was only possible with the cooperation of regional elders, and the immense sacrifices of the security forces for peace in the region were highly commendable. He added that more steps for peace would be taken.
At least 10,000 army people, the police and other agencies carried out their security duty during Muharram in the Kohat division, with the disturbing Kurram district delivered to the army due to a series of sectarian murders in the past.
