New Delhi: Lok Sabha approved Tuesday Additional government spending of RS 51,463 million rupees For the current financial year and approved the manipur budget for 2025-26.
The decision was made as part of the second lot of complementary subsidies demandswhich also included provisions for debt refund and financial aid to Manipur, currently under the president’s rule.
Additional expenses and debt reimbursement
The Minister of Finance, Nirmala Sitharaman, presented the second lot of supplementary subsidies demands, which implies a general additional expense of RS 6.78 Lakh Crore. Of this, RS 6.27 Lakh Crore will be covered through savings and receipts, carrying the additional spending to RS 51,462.86 million rupees.

Manipur budget and financial support

Sitharaman stressed that total receipts for Manipur are at 35,368 million rupees, while the estimated spending is RS 35,104 million rupees.
The State’s own tax revenues are projected at RS 2,634 million rupees, with revenues not imposed on RS 400 million rupees.
