An influential of fitness in social networks known as “King of the Liver” was arrested on Tuesday after publishing threatening messages aimed at the popular Podcaster Joe Rogan on social networks, according to the police.
The Austin Police Department said in a statement that arrested Brian Johnson after learning that he was traveling to Austin, where he lives and threatening the very influential Podcaster in a series of videos he published on Instagram.
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you, my name is the hepatic king. Man to man, I’m fighting with you,” Johnson said in a video he published on Monday. “I don’t have training in Jiu-Jitsu, you’re a black belt, you must dismantle me. But I’m fighting with you. Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”
In another video that published that day, he challenged in a similar way to Rogen to fight “man to man.”
“You never find something like this, ready to die, waiting for me to drown me because it’s a dream come true,” said Johnson.
Police said they contacted Rogan on Tuesday, who told them that he never interacted with Johnson and considered that the positions were threatening.
Later that day, Johnson was arrested at the Four Seasons hotel and accused of terrorist threat, a minor class B crime, police said.
The representatives of Johnson and Rogan did not immediately respond to the requests for comments.
The videos of the “King of the Liver” promote what he describes as the “ancestral lifestyle”, which includes consuming large amounts of raw meat and animal organs, particularly liver of animals. His dietary techniques have been criticized by nutritionists for propagating disinformation.
Johnson has never been a guest of Rogan’s successful podcast. However, Johnson and his alleged use of steroids, which Johnson initially denied and then apologized, were subject to one of Rogan’s podcast episodes in 2023, which has more than 8.7 million visits on YouTube.
A video that shows Johnson was handcuffed and put in a police vehicle was published on his Instagram account, which has more than 3 million followers, Tuesday.
