Levies personnel martyred, 2 others injured in attack on Kalat checkpost – Pakistan

A personnel from the Levies were martyred, while two others were injured on Sunday as a result of an attack on a check in the Kalat district of Baluchistan, authorities said.

Pakistan has recently witnessed an increase in terrorist activities, especially in KP and Baluchistan. Terrorist attacks have increased since the prohibited Pakistan of Tehreek-I-Taliban (TTP) broke a high-fire at a fragile fire agreement with the government in 2022.

In a statement, Baluchistan government spokesman Shahid Rind said: “A staff was martyred while two were injured in an attack on a tax check in Kalat.”

He added that the strength of the encumbrances immediately retaliates, forcing the assailants to flee. An investigation into the attack has been ordered, said Rind.

The injured personnel have been transferred to Quetta to receive medical treatment, according to RIND.

The spokesman also said that a search operation was being carried out to arrest criminals and that the directives on which the law enforcement agencies had been issued.

Expressing the condolences of the Baluchistan government for the incident, he paid tribute to martyred security personnel and said he shared the pain of the family family.

“The sacrifices provided by security forces to restore peace will not be wasted,” said Rind.

The checkup assault arrives only one day after four soldiers were martyred, while 15 terrorists were killed in two separate operations based on intelligence (IBO) held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

At the beginning of this month, 18 soldiers were martyred, while 23 terrorists were killed in 24 hours in various disinfection operations throughout Baluchistan. Twelve of the murdered militants had died in a clash during the night in Kalat.

On the same day, in a night incident, four staff of the Baluchistan taxes and a civilian were martyred in a bomb attack in Dera Ismail Khan of KP, near the Baluchistan border district of Dherani. The counter-terrorism department (CTD) registered a case, while the Baluchistan government formed a investigation court to investigate the incident.

The next day, two security personnel lost their lives and another person was injured in armed attacks separated in Baluchistan.

With at least 685 members of the security forces lost their lives in the middle of a total of 444 terrorist attacks, 2024 turned out to be the most fatal year for Pakistan civil and military security forces in a decade, according to a report issued by the Safety Research and Studies Center (CRSS) Tank-Tank.

According to the CEO of the ISPR, the Security Forces made a total of 59,775 operations last year during which 925 terrorists were killed and 383 officers and soldiers were martyred.

PM Shehbaz, cm Bugti Condemn Attack

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif firmly condemned the terrorist attack against Kalat’s taxation, administered by the State Pakistan radio reported.

In a statement, he said that terrorists are enemies of the development and progress of Baluchistan.

According to his statement cited in the report, Levies staff was called Ali Nawaz. The prime minister prayed for the high rank of the martyr, saying that he sacrificed his life to defend his homeland.

The prime minister also wanted the injured a rapid recovery and reaffirmed the government’s resolution not to “allow the over terrorist designs to succeed.”

Baluchistan’s prime minister, Sarfraz Bugti, also denounced the attack in a statement about X. He received Nawaz for fulfilling his duties and giving an “example of courage sacrificing his life.”

CM Bugti said he shared the pain of the staff of the staff and prayed for the rapid recovery of the security people injured.

“The sacrifices provided by security forces to protect the people of Baluchistan will always be remembered,” he said.
