The iconic video game series “The Legend of Zelda” is reaching the big screen, and the beloved characters Princess Zelda and his reliable Ally Link have been chosen, Nintendo Games director, Shigeru Miyamoto, announced Wednesday morning.
Bo Brasson will play Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will represent Link, Miyamoto said in the official Nintendo social media accounts.
Miyamoto, who created the original Nintendo games and is producing the film, shared two photos that seem to show the actors disguised in the film.
The live action film is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 7, 2027.
“I really want to see them both on the big screen,” he added.
Bragason is known for playing Roxy on the Disney+ “Renegade” television series of 2024, in addition to appearing in the 2024 “The Radley” movie and the BBC One 2017 series “Three Girls”, according to its IMDB profile.
Meanwhile, Ainsworth appeared in the 2025 movie “Everything’s Goes Be Be Great” with Bryan Cranston and Allison Janney, the Canadian comedy television series “Son of A Cost” and the Disney 2022 movie “Pinocchio” as the voice of “Pinocchio”, according to IMDB.
The film, directed by the trilogy of “The Maze Runner” Helmer Wes Ball, will be co -produced by Sony and Nintendo. The adaptation follows the record success of “Super Mario Bros. Movie” of 2023, another Nintendo franchise that was produced by the Game Company and the lighting and distributed by Universal Pictures.
