A lawyer protest organized by the Karachi Lawyers Association (KBA) and the Hyderabad Bar Association in the provincial capital on Saturday led to an important interruption of traffic in Sharea Faisal near the elevated step of the FTC and the roads that lead to the press club.
Legal organizations protested against the controversial projects of channels, the 26th constitutional amendment, delivering the lands of Sindh for corporate agriculture and the prevention of the Electronic Crime Law (amendment), 2025.
The caravans of lawyers belonging to different district bars of the province reached the high step of the FTC in Sharea Faisal, where the contingents of the law agents have already deployed with parked containers, causing traffic chaos and long lines of vehicles.
The lawyers had successful conversations with the administration of the police and the district under which they were allowed to take the line of lines to the Karachi Press Club (KPC).
The march, directed by the higher lawyers, Javed Qazi, Sajad Chandio, Asghar Narejo, Aqib Rajpar, Ashraf Samoo, Abid Khan Jatoi, Sameer Memon and others, arrived at the KPC, where the logics against federal and provincial governments chanted and voted to resist the channel projects.
The lawyers alleged that it had imposed “a unit” in the country, and added that the construction work in the controversial projects had been completed almost half without the mandatory approval of the Council of common interest.
They said that people rejected such channel projects and would resist construction.
South Deputy General Inspector (DIG) Syed Asad Raza said Dawn.com That the lawyers, belonging to Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Jamshoro, Thatta and Malir, arrived in Sharea Faisal and moved to KPC through the FTC Bridge, Lucky Star, Rex Center, Zainab Market and Fawara Chowk, which caused interruption in the flow of traffic in the main arteries in the main arteries in the city.
He said the protest was directed by the president of the Hyderabad Bar Association, Ayaz Tunio, the president of KBA, Amir Nawaz Waraich and Qazi Javed.
Around 500-600 lawyers sang slogans and dispersed after the protest peacefully.

Javed, who is also a columnist, said the lawyers were giving a new dimension to emerging protests against controversial water projects, accusing the administration of the Government and the District led by PPP to try to interrupt the protest.
