A worker was killed, while two others were hospitalized on Saturday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bajaur district after inhaling toxic gases in a water well under construction in which they were working.
The incident occurred in the Dabgay Shamozo area of Utman Khel in Bajaur.
Bajaur rescue 1122 spokesman Amjad Ali said Dawn.com“Three workers were digging a water well in the Dabgay Shamozo area when they suddenly fell unconscious.”
He said that the 1122 rescue team responded to the emergency and transferred the workers to the Hospital of the Headquarters of the Bajaur District in Khar.
He said that one of the workers was declared dead by doctors in the Hospital Emergency Department, while the remaining two were critical.
Last month, five men, including a sanitation worker and two brothers, died after inhaling toxic gases in an underground water tank in Ibrahim Hyderi in Karachi.
