Khyber Pakhtunkhwa authorities arrested a suspect allegedly involved in human organs in Peshawar, according to a statement from the provincial special tax department on Saturday.
According to the KP Special Tax Department, joint operations with other institutions to stop smuggling are ongoing “against the illegal spectrum” on the provincial Proex Committee instructions.
“An operation was carried out under the command of the Special Tax Officer of Narcotics Control Faisal Khursheed in the joint check position in the M-1,” says the statement, adds that a gang involved in the elimination and sale of organs Humans, including the kidneys, was arrested.
The statement said the suspect brought two people from fine to Peshawar, where he allegedly withdrew his kidneys. He did not explain when this took place.
“The rate to sell the kidneys of both individuals was set at RS280,000,” the department said. “The gang takes advantage of people with difficulties, eliminates their organs and is involved in the trafficking business.”
The Special Tax Department added that the suspect’s mobile phone contained video images of the victims. He said the suspect was delivered to the Federal Research Agency.
In October 2023, the main minister of the Punjab caregiver, Mohsin Naqvi, said that the police arrested gang members who were allegedly involved in carrying out more than 300 illegal renal operations.
Naqvi, who currently serves as a Federal Interior Minister, said at a press conference that the alleged leader of the gang and his accomplices had been arrested and that the police team that did the work would receive a cash prize from RS500,000 .
He claimed that the main defendant illegally extracted the kidneys of 328 people and transplanted them to rich clients, adding that the suspect was arrested at least five times in the past and confessed to carry out the operations.
