KARACHI: While the police have failed to recover a minor kidnapped more than a week ago in north Karachi, the abduction of two more children has sent ripples of concern among the people, forcing the Sindh chief minister to order the police to take practical measures for his immediate recovery. .
The CM not only directed the Karachi Police Chief to remain in touch with the parents of the victims and ensure immediate recovery, but also directed him to increase patrols across the metropolis.
On January 7, seven-year-old Mohammed Sarim had gone to a madrasa from his home in northern Karachi, but did not return. His family first filed a missing person report and then an FIR under Section 364-A (kidnapping or abduction of a person below 14 years of age) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

After the ‘rescue call’, the police transferred the case to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) for investigation.
While the AVCC was investigating the case, two more children, Aliyan, also known as Ali, five, and Ali Raza, six, went missing from Garden locality on Tuesday and CCTV footage revealed that they had been taken away. a man and a woman riding a motorcycle, said DIG-South Syed Asad Raza.
he said Sunrise that the two boys, friends and neighbors, were playing on Siddiq Wahab Road in Garden West when they were abducted on January 14 around 1:30 p.m.
The DIG said the man in the images appeared to be Baloch, while the children also belonged to a Baloch family.
An investigation team was formed which visited the incident site and attempted to locate the missing children through social media, Roshni Alert, Zara Alert and the local community.
Police also contacted rescue services to search for the missing children in the Lyari River, which is located near the crime scene.
However, despite the efforts, no significant results could be achieved so far, the DIG said, adding that an investigation is underway with continuous efforts to locate the children and apprehend those responsible.
He added that so far the families have not received any ransom calls.
The Garden police have registered an FIR under sections 364-A of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 3 of the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act, 2018 on the complaint of Zainab Younus, Aliyan’s mother.
The woman told police she worked at a gym in Garden. He was at work and when he returned home at 1:30 pm, his son Aliyan, also known as Ali, was not at home.
Her husband told her that a while ago their son had gone out to play. Meanwhile, her neighbor, Sahira Razzaq, came out of her house and informed her that her son Ali Raza had also gone out to play but had not returned. Both mothers began a search but could not locate them.
Regarding Sarim’s case, SSP-Central Zeeshan Siddiqui said Sunrise that the boy’s father, Mohsin Pervez, a generator mechanic by profession, told the police that Sarim went to a seminar on January 7 in north Karachi, Sector-5-K, but did not return until 5 p.m. .
His wife, over the phone, informed him that Sarim had not returned until now. He rushed home and was sent to meet the seminary teacher, who informed him that his son had left the seminary at 3:40 p.m.
The author said that when he returned he saw his son’s gloves lying on the steps of the mosque, which made him nervous. He located his son in neighborhoods and relatives’ homes but could not find him.
The father said he believed unidentified people had kidnapped his son for unknown reasons, the FIR said.
