Kharan judge back home after 2 days in captivity

QUETTA: Kidnapped Kharan Qazi court judge Mohammad Jan returned home safely on Wednesday after being held in captivity for two days, police said.

“The Qazi court judge was kidnapped by gunmen after setting fire to the court building two days ago,” said Rakhshan region deputy inspector general of police Abdul Hayee Amir Baloch. Sunrise. The judge was “safe and well,” Baloch added.

It was not immediately clear whether the judge had been freed by the kidnappers or recovered by authorities.

Police said a group of armed men stormed the Qazi Court building in the Maskan Kalat area, about 30 kilometers from Kharan town, while the judge was hearing cases. They held him and court staff hostage, ransacked records and damaged office furniture and other items in the premises before setting them on fire. While fleeing, they had taken the judge at gunpoint.
