Kelly Clarkson says her ex-husband has been ill, postpones August concerts in Las Vegas

Kelly Clarkson said she is postponing the rest of her “study session” concerts in Las Vegas this month while his family faces a difficult chapter.

Clarksson, a Grammy winning singer, said Wednesday on Instagram that he was postponing August’s shows to support his children as his father, her ex -husband, Brandon Blackstock, has not been fine.

“While I normally maintain my personal life in private, last year, my children’s father has been sick and at this time, I need to be completely present for them,” he wrote.

Clarkson and Blackstock divorced in March 2022, two years after they announced their separation. The couple shares two children: daughter River Rose, who was born in 2014, and her son Remington Alexander, born in 2016. Clarkson lives with her children in New York City, where she also organizes a daytime interview program, “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”

She seemed to go to her ex -husband through her music several times, both in her 2023 “Mine” songs and in “ME” and in her interview program, when she reviewed the lyrics of the song by Olivia Rodrigo “Abcdefu” during one of his performances of 2023.

“Forget about you and your dad / and the fact that you have half and my broken heart / turned that [expletive] In art, “she sang, which seemed to be a reference to her divorce agreement, in which she had to issue a unique payment of more than $ 1 million to her ex -husband, along with the monthly marital support (until January 31, 2024) and the child support payments that amounted to more than $ 160,000.

In an interview with Zane Lowe by Apple Music in June 2023, Clarkson said the division, in the end, was “liberating.”

“It’s incredibly sad, and it’s a dark place, the fetal position on the floor crying, and there is so much loss with that, and I never experienced a pain like that,” he said.

“We have to let go. This is not working. This is not going to work, and it doesn’t work for any of us.”

Clarkson arrived at the headlines this year for his absences of his interview program. From the end of February to March, he occasionally moved away. During that time, the guest hosts, including Simu Liu, Roy Wood Jr. and even Willie Geist of “Today”.
