As Karachi faces the possibility of strong showers and the consequent urban floods, the city’s transit police have taken the preventive measure of declare on both sides of the “non -standing zone” of Tariq Road.
The Traffic Police published on Tuesday on Tuesday that the MET office had predicted heavy rains and urban floods for September 9 (today), in view of what “citizens, as well as all market associations, its members and administrations are reported that both sides of Tariq Road have been declared a non -equity zone.”
Police said the passage was given so that Tariq Road could be used as an alternative route in case Sharea Faisal, one of the main arteries of the city, “is affected.”
“Citizens are requested, especially market associations and members, to avoid parking on both sides of Tariq Road so that the traffic flow is not hindered.”
Early in the morning, the Transit Police reported that it rained in parts of the city. He advised switches to be cautious and warned them on slippery roads.
A day ago, the mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, admitted that despite the precautionary measures, it was inevitable that the city would take “a few hours” to recover after each downpour.
