A Karachi resident who was assaulted in the Defense Housing Authority earlier this week says he has forgiven the suspect and does not want to take the case to the courts, even when a judge rejected the bond of the suspect in a separate hearing.
On Monday, Karachi police arrested a main suspect along with two of its employees for charges of hitting a citizen named Dheeraj. The suspect, identified as Salman Farooqi, was arrested from DHA and his vehicle was confiscated.
Farooqi, who was traveling in a luxury car, allegedly assaulted a motorcyclist accompanied by a woman on the Khayaban-Nehad road after a minor accident.
A judicial magistrate on Tuesday sent Farooqi and his guard, Owais Hashmi in police custody in the case. They were produced in court today by the police after the end of their two -day preventive detention.
Today, Dheeraj appeared in court and identified the suspect.
“I didn’t know that the court had summoned me,” he said. “The lawyer told me today, so it seemed.”
The judicial magistrate asked Dheeraj if he faced some type of pressure.
“It was my blame, my bicycle hit his car,” Dheeraj told the Court.
“I don’t want to present a case. Lost to the suspect,” he said, adding that “what the court decides, I will not have objection.”
Dheeraj presented a non -objection certificate (NO). However, the court indicated that the affidavit seemed to have been presented under improper influence or coercion.
Prosecutor Irfana Qadri told the Court that a case had been registered against the suspect for threatening and humiliating a woman, identified as Dheeraj’s sister, Kalpana.
“These are not charges on the stock market,” Qadri said. The court reserved its verdict after the arguments of the lawyers.
However, at a separate hearing, the additional judge of the district and the ABDUL ZAHOOR Chandio sessions rejected the bail request submitted by FAROOQI and HASHMI.
A case had been registered against the suspects at the Gizri police station for the complaint of a citizen of eye witnesses.
