Karachi school management booked for manslaughter as employee ‘dies by suicide’ – Pakistan

The management of a private school in Karachi has been reserved for charges of involuntary homicide after a young employee allegedly died from suicide, arose on Wednesday.

The 25 -year -old employee allegedly jumped from the eighth floor of the school building on September 1, according to a first information report (FIR) registered at the Brigade Police Station.

According to the plaintiff, who was the victim’s brother, “on September 1, he (the victim) left home around 8:15 am for work. Around 9:35 am, I received a phone call informing me that my brother’s health had deteriorated and that they took him to the Jinnah postgraduate medical center (JPMC)”.

The plaintiff said that when he arrived at JPMC, the school administration staff was also present and informed him that his brother fell from the eighth floor of the building around 8:45 am

He added that when he reached the emergency room, he saw that his brother was dead.

“Later it was learned that my brother had left a message on social networks, naming three men who ‘mentally tortured,” said the plaintiff.

He claimed that his brother finished his life due to mental pressure and wanted to follow legal actions against the three people named in the social media post.

Police invoked sections 34 (acts carried out by several people in common intention) and 322 (Punishment for Homicide) of the Pakistan Criminal Code against the suspects.
