Karachi residents faced interruptions on their daily trip on Monday morning due to traffic jams caused by repair work on tattered and flooded roads after the heavy rains last week.
The torrential rains on August 19 had flooded neighborhoods, severely tense the fragile Karachi infrastructure, left people stranded on the roads for hours, interrupted industrial operations and led to prolonged power cuts.
The roads are still plagued by potholes, exposing the devastation of the Karachi road network and raising serious dangers for travelers throughout the metropolis.
Subsequently, when the karachiitas left their homes for offices and schools this morning, they faced obstacles caused by accumulated rainwater and the “development work” to repair the roads into ruins, as reported by the Transit Police.
The areas in the districts of Malir, East and Korangi were affected, with locations that include the busy roads of Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed Road near the Shaheen complex and mm Alam Road.
