Karachi police presented traffic and parking plans on Thursday for spectators visiting the National Bank Stadium before the Champions Trophy and Tri-series currently currently.
Two of the four tri-series games are scheduled for Karachi, with the final between Pakistan and New Zealand scheduled for Friday, February 14. Pakistan defeated South Africa on Wednesday after Sindh’s prime minister Murad Ali Shah opened the newly renewed stadium one day before.
Meanwhile, the Champions Trophy matches that will be held in Karachi are scheduled for February 19, March 21 and March 1. The PCB recently made an important renovation of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the Karachi National Bank Stadium and the Cricket Rawalpindi (Rawalpindi) stadium for the eight- Nation Champions Trophy from February 19.
According to a notification issued by the Karachi Traffic Police today, both sides of Sir Shah Suleman Road will remain open for traffic. A special parking plan for fans attending the matches has been devised.
According to the traffic plan, those who come from Karsaz in Shah Suleman Road under the high step of the stadium should park in the National Training Center (NCC) and China.
Those who come from the Millennium shopping center through the stadium under the high step of the stadium should take a right turn in Sir Shah Suleman Road and Park in NCC and China Ground.
Similarly, viewers from New Town through Stadium Road should turn left in Sir Shah Suleman Road after crossing the Aga Khan hospital and parking in NCC and China Ground.
The traffic plan said that a lot of traffic was expected on the following routes: from Sohrab Goth to NIFE, from Liaquatabad no 10 to Hassan Square, from pp chowrangi to University Road, from Karsaz to the stadium and from Millennium to New Town.
He added that all types of heavy traffic would be prohibited from the stadium signal to Hassan Square.
“The public is requested to cooperate with the police and the agencies of application of the law to avoid inconveniences and problems.
“Please do not estimate your car or motorcycle on any main road or service road and, instead, it is in the designated parking areas mentioned above,” says the traffic plan.
He advised people to call representatives of the Traffic Police to 1915 if they needed any help.
