Karachi police arrest 8 after gun battle at Gulshan-i-Iqbal call centre – Pakistan

Eight people were arrested on Tuesday night after a shooting broke out between two groups of people in a call center in the Gulshan-iqbal neighborhood of Karachi, it emerged on Wednesday.

The First Information Report (FIR) of the Incident was filled at the gulshan-iqbal police Station a day ex Aug Against the eight suspects under sections 147 (Punishment for Rioting), 148 (Rioting, Armed With Deadly Weapon), 149 (Event Member of Unlawful Assembly Guilty of Offence Committed in Prosecution of Common Object), 337a (Punishment for Assault), 337h (II) (Punishment for Hurt by by by the imprudent or negligent act), 342 (punishment for unfair confinement), 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intention of indignanting her modesty) the criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Criminal Code and Section 25 (use of a firearm to commit a 2013 criminal offense of the 2013 Sindh Arms Law.

The incident occurred because the workers of the call center took the daughter of the plaintiff, another employee, hostage, according to the FIR.

“My daughter works at the call center, but the branch manager has harassed her during the last three years,” said the plaintiff. “I was frustrated by that, so she told my son. My nephew also called the branch manager and told her to stay away from her.

“When my daughter went to work on September 23 (Tuesday), the manager called my nephew and said: ‘You did not come to me, do what you want,” added the plaintiff. “My sister, the nephews and I went to the office at 9 pm, but the doors were closed. They kept my daughter hostage.”

The plaintiff claimed that the branch manager threw abuse while another person gave them a weapon and shot when he and his nephews broke the door and entered the facilities.

“My nephew returned the fire, while the office guard also drew his weapon and began shooting,” said the plaintiff.

According to the FIR, someone reported that the shooting in the police help line and the staff soon arrived at the scene, arrested five people for dismissal, while three others were arrested for causing the incident.

He added that the Police also seized weapons and ammunition of the suspects.

In February, a young man was arrested in the Karachi DHA after shooting and hurting two police officers while resisting arrest in relation to a host of rescue case. Later, the shooter was sent in preventive detention by an anti -terrorism court for the incident and has a litany of charges against him, including the cyber crime and the attempt to murder of a journalist.
