Karachi: A session court has sentenced a man to death in a case of double murder.
Additional District and Sessions Judge (South) Abdul Hafeez Lashari, who made the trial in the judicial complex within the central prison, found Nawaz Khursheed guilty of murdering an elderly couple, amazed Iftikhar and Salma, in their home in their home Phase-VI DHA in 2020 during 2020 during a robbery.
The judge also sentenced the defendants to 10 years in prison under sections 324 (attempted murder), five years under 392 (punishment for robbery) and imprisonment of seven years under section 397 (theft or dacoity, with an attempt of causing the death or serious injured) of the Pakistan Criminal Code (PPC).
The court pointed out that substantial evidence established that the main reason for the crime was theft. The defendant, who faces “financial despair” due to unemployment, attacked an elderly couple who resided in a bungalow.
“[He was] Aware of their vulnerability and the presence of value objects … the subsequent murders of Salma and Iftikhar occurred when they resisted their attempt to steal jewelry and effective, ”he added.
The plaintiff’s lawyer, Muhammad Farooq, declared that the house helped Uumer Farooq, who was seriously injured during the robbery, testified that in the month of Ramazan, during the first hours while waking up to prepare Sehri, he saw the defendants Armed with a dagger and a gun.
The defendant tied his hands and feet with a rope, cut off his throat and left him unconscious.
In his confessional statement before the magistrate, the defendant declared that he invaded the Bungalow with the intention of theft. He cut the barbed wire on the rear limit, hid on the roof and ambushed the help of the house.
He added that he cut the couple’s throats as they resisted while stealing jewelry and effective. He confessed that after the robbery, he ruled out his bloodstained clothes on an open open plot, which was later recovered.
