A powerful explosion attacked the vehicle of the local leader of Jui-F, Maulana Noorullah, on Thursday near a seminar in the lower district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Waziristan, police said.
The explosion hit the car of Maulana Noorullah near Shahzad Madrassah, adjacent to a police station in the Azam Warsak market in the district. According to a police statement, the bomb attack was carried out to attack Maulana Noorullah, who remained unharmed.
Police confirmed the incident and said there were no casualties in the explosion. The security forces cordoned off the area and began an investigation.
According to a video published later by the JUI-F, Maulana Noorullah told her supporters that she was accompanied by the local leaders of the Mulana Ishaq and Maulana Amanullah party when the explosion occurred.
“We are all safe,” he told his followers. “We want peace in the country and the protection of religious schools, mosques and all Muslims.”
Jui-F leaders have been attacked in different parts of KP and Baluchistan in recent months.
On March 14 of this year, a bomb exploded in a mosque in the South Waziristan district during Friday’s prayers, hurting the head of the District of Jui, Abdullah Nadeem and three others, police said. Nadeem was seriously injured, while three others, also belonging to the jui, suffered minor injuries.
The local Jui-F leaders have also been attacked in Baluchistan. On April 25, a local Jui-F leader and two women died and another five were injured in an explosion on the road near the Kalat district.
The incident occurred in the Kapotu area when a collection vehicle that transported eight people was beaten by an improvised explosive device (FDI) planted on the road near Killi Kapot, according to the Levies officials.
The vehicle came from Kalat when the explosion took place. The truck was promoted by the local leader and member of the Council of the Union, Maulana Abdullah Nachari.
In another incident on March 2, two leaders of Jui-F Baluchistan were killed in the Zehri area of the Khuzdar district in Baluchistan.
Jui-F leaders, Wadera Ghulam Sarwar and Molvi Amanullah were heading home in the Zehri Tarsani area when unknown assailants who were traveling in motorcycles opened fire with automatic weapons.
Both died in the place after receiving a shot in several times, while the security guard of one of the leaders received gunshot wounds.
