The chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, suggested that there should be a “change” in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government led by PTI, and added that it would be better if the change came from within the ruling party amid reports of the possible efforts to generate a “change of regime” in the province of the province.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had met two key leaders of the province, apparently to handle the political situation, amid the situation. The ruling coalition led by PML-N in the center believes that the PTI government in KP has not been able to fulfill for more than a decade, and the recent events have consolidated their conviction that the provincial government cannot safeguard people’s lives. Meanwhile, the PTI warned against any attempt to overthrow the provincial government through constitutional means.
When addressing the matter at a press conference in Peshawar today, the Chief of Jui-F said: “My advice would be that there should be a change in the province, but if the PTI is a majority, then the change should be of the majority of the PTI. If the people themselves join to bring a change in the provincial government, then it will be better.”
Fazl said he preferred this option instead of the opposition joining and bringing a change in the government.
He added that it was his belief and that of his party that the majority of the province was “false” and a rigged product, but it could not be a political struggle, therefore, it would be better if there was a change from within the ruling PTI.
