The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Monday nominated Judge Ejaz Swati as the main judge of the Superior Court of Baluchistan (BHC).
A press release issued today by the Public Relations officer of the Supreme Court said that a “JCP meeting of the Judicial Commission was held to consider the nominations for the appointment of the president of the president of BHC.
“The Commission, by consensus, nominated Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Swati, the Superior Court of the President of the Supreme Court of Baluchistan, for his appointment as President of the Superior Court of Baluchistan,” said the statement.
A circular of the JCP secretary to the principal secretary of the Prime Minister requested that more measures be taken in this regard.
Judge Swati had borrowed an oath as the president of the BHC Supreme Court on February 14.
According to his profile, Judge Swati was born on June 6, 1963 in Quetta. He completed his primary and secondary education at the Tameer-I-Nau public school, Quetta, in 1978. He obtained a postgraduate degree in English from the University of Baluchistan and completed his LLB of University Law College Quetta in 1988.
Judge Swati registered as a defender of the BHC on November 28, 1991, and a defender of the Supreme Court on April 18, 2007. He practiced the law for more than 22 years before the subordinated courts, the BTHE HC, the Federal Federal Court and the APEX Court.
He was also appointed judge of the Anti -Terror Court in Tobat on March 5, 2002, and resigned from October 14, 2003. He was elevated as the additional JHC judge on August 30, 2013, and confirmed as a judge on September 2, 2015.
