Quetta: The Jaffar Express, bound for Quetta, escaped by little from the disaster on Thursday when a pump planted near the track near the Sibi railway station exploded just after the passenger train passed.
Pakistan’s rail authorities confirmed the explosion, which occurred near the external signal of the road that links Baluchistan with the rest of the country.
“The explosive device was planted near the outdoor railway signal and detonated shortly after the train passed, causing significant damage to the road but leaving the unharmed train,” said a senior official, “he told a senior official,” he said Sunrise.
However, the railway was seriously damaged in the explosion.
“A part of the railroad road was exploited in the explosion,” said Railway Police officers, adding that the train service was suspended after the explosion and the trains to Quetta stopped at the Jacobabad station. The repair of the damaged rail line has begun.
After the explosion, the security forces rushed to the scene to investigate. The preliminary results revealed that the explosive device had been remotely detonated.
