The Gray Cup game will return to Regina in 2027, the second time in five years that the capital and home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders will host the CFL final.
“This is an opportunity for us in 2027 to once again highlight the strength of the fan base we have in Saskatchewan, the community pride we have in our Saskatchewan football team,” Premier Scott Moe said in Monday’s announcement.
“We do Gray Cups well in Saskatchewan,” Roughriders president Craig Reynolds said.
Since their founding in 1910, the Roughriders have hosted the championship game four times, most recently in 2022. The 2027 game, scheduled for November 7, 2027, will be the fifth championship game to be held in the Queen City.
This year’s Gray Cup will be held in Winnipeg on November 16 and Calgary will host the Gray Cup in 2026.
“Rider Nation is legendary and Saskatchewan’s winning bid was an unmistakable reflection of this incredible fan base, filled with passion, celebration, a strong sense of community and, of course, a deep love for Canadian football,” CFL commissioner Stewart Johnston said in a news release.
