On Thursday afternoon, Khalil Al-Hayya, Chief of Gaza de Hamas, said the movement was willing to change all the remaining hostages of Palestinians imprisoned in Israel in exchange for an end of war and the reconstruction of Gaza.
But he ruled out an Israeli offer, which includes a demand for Hamas to place his arms, as imposing “impossible conditions.”
Israel has not formally responded to Al-Hayya’s comments, but the ministers have repeatedly said that Hamas must be completely unarmed and cannot play any role in the future governance of Gaza. The fire offer that made through Egyptian mediators includes conversations on a final agreement of the war but there is no firm agreement.
Defense Minister Israel Katz also said this week that the troops would remain in the damping zone around the border that now extends deeply in Gaza and cuts the enclave in two, even after any agreement.
