The police in the capital of Islamabad arrested a man for allegedly attacking his wife with an ax, leaving her seriously injured in the jurisdiction of the Phulgran Police Station on Wednesday.
A public relations officer said Application that a case was recorded and additional investigation was being carried out.
He said that the victim’s father reported a complaint indicating that his daughter was attacked with an ax and severely injured by her husband. Responding quickly, the Phulgran police registered a case and launched an immediate investigation.
The officer said the police team tracked and arrested the suspect using modern technology and forensic evidence, adding that man was now in custody and the legal procedures were ongoing.
The deputy inspector of Police Police, Muhammad, Jawad Tariq, said the police were committed to taking strict measures against cases of domestic violence and abuse against women and children.
“The suspect will be prosecuted with solid evidence to be taken before justice,” he said.
Last week, a woman was shot dead in Quetta in a case of murder of ‘honor’.
According to the Pakistan Human Rights Commission, gender -based violence remains generalized in Pakistan, manifesting in several ways, such as domestic violence, crimes of honor, sexual assault and forced marriages.
