Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatolá Ali Khamenei, accused Donald Trump on Saturday of lying when the president of the United States said during his Gulf tour this week that he wanted peace in the region.
On the contrary, said Khamenei, the United States uses its power to give “10 tons bombs to the Zionist (Israeli) regime to fall on the heads of Gaza’s children.”
Trump told journalists aboard Air Force One after leaving the United Arab Emirates on Friday that Iran had to move quickly in a US proposal. For its nuclear program or “something bad will happen.”
Earlier on Saturday, Iranian President Masoud Peeshkian said Trump talks about peace and at the same time makes threats.
“Which should we believe?” Fishshkian said in a naval event in Tehran.
“On the one hand, he speaks of peace and on the other, threatens the most advanced mass murder tools.”
Tehran would continue with the nuclear conversations of Iran-United States, but is not afraid of threats.
“We are not looking for war,” said fishshkian.
His comments, said Khamenei, “is not even worth answering.”

“Without a doubt, the source of corruption, war and conflict in this region is the Zionist regime, a dangerous and deadly cancerous tumor that must be uprooted; it will be uprooted,” he said in an event in a religious center in Tehran, according to state media.
While Trump said Friday that Iran had an US proposal. On its nuclear program, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in a position on X, said Tehran had not received any proposal of this type.

Araqchi warned on Saturday that the constant change of posture of Washington prolongs nuclear conversations, State TV reported.
“It is absolutely unacceptable that the United States repeatedly defines a new framework for negotiations that prolong the process,” said the transmission citing Araqchi.
