Iqaluimmiut is still under a refuge alert in the place that was issued during the night after the reports that are triggered inside a house.
In a press release on Saturday morning, Nunavut RCMP said the officers received a call on a firearm that was used on Tasilik Street just before 1 in the morning, when the police arrived on the scene, RCMP said they heard additional shots of the residence.
Approximately 25 minutes later, a refuge alert was issued in the place, advising residents to stay inside, block the doors and stay away from the windows.
RCMP said the officers are still on stage, although the police have not declared if someone has been arrested.
The police are asking the public to avoid the area around the years 2200.
No injuries have been reported.
