The MET office has predicted intermittent showers in Karachi until tomorrow while the city continues to receive rain for the third consecutive day on Saturday.
Karachi has been experiencing moderate to strong rains from Thursday night, bringing the respite of the scorching heat of summer. The rains of the monsoon continue to attest many parts of the country, which leads to the authorities to publish a warning of urban floods for several cities. The rains of the monsoon fall throughout the region from June to September of each year.
According to a Weather Advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), “Strong Monsoon Currents are penetrating over the province”, causing thunderstorm/rain with moderate to heavy rainfall in karachi along with JamSHOR Hyderabad, Mitiari, Sanghar, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, districts of Nosheroz de Sindh.
It is likely that the rainy climate persists in the city for the next two days. Karachi is expected to receive intermittent storms/rain with a few moderate heavy falls to isolated today, while the maximum temperature will be between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius with 78 percent moisture.
For Sunday, the MET office has predicted intermittent rains with a few moderate to isolated falls. The temperature is to remain between 30 and 32 degrees Celsius with the humidity levels of 75-85pc.
On Monday, the city will experience a cloudy climate with possibilities of light/drizzle rain, with temperatures that are expected to be maintained between 32 and 34 degrees Celsius, with a humidity of 75-85 percent.
In other parts of Sindh, including Tharparker, Uumerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana, Kamber Shahadkot, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Ghotki and Kashmore, Rain/Thundorm with few moderate falls will continue until tomorrow with the occasional positions.
In its weather notice, the weather office warned: “The heavy downpour/wind storm and the rays can affect the daily routines, urban floods, water felling in low areas and can damage weak structures such as the roof/wall of kacha houses, electric posts, advertising fences, vehicles and solar panels, etc. during the forecast period.”
He advised farmers to administer their activities in the light of time forecast.
The Met Office ordered the authorities concerned to remain alert and take all the necessary measures to avoid any unpleasant situation.
Separately, a notice issued by the Traffic Police advised people to avoid unnecessary trips and do not take sudden brakes while on the road, since the roads can become slippery.
The notice also asked travelers to have a low speed when driving, maintaining a distance from the next vehicle and urged motorcyclists to use only the left side of the road.
On Friday, two young people died of electrocution at the Karachi site and the city of Armjani. A 20 -year -old factory worker died after suffering an electric shock around 1:30 am, while another 21 -year -old man died in the city of Arrejani for an electric shock when he played the door of his house during the rain.
