The comment demonstrated his ignorance and lack of knowledge of the history of the party.
“I would say that people, be it Dane Ali or some individuals from XYZ, who make such statements, are perhaps trying to please Rahul Gandhi. By doing so, they are insulting the wisdom and intelligence of Rahul Gandhi’s predecessors such as Mrs Indira Gandhi, her mother Mrs Sonia Gandhi, and other senior Congress leaders like Dr Manmohan Singh,” he told news agency PTI.
“If Pranab Mukherjee was really aligned with the RSS, why did the Congress entrust him with so many different and significant responsibilities for 45 years? Wasn’t Mrs. Indira Gandhi smart enough to see through that? Mrs. Sonia Gandhi was not aware of such things? “These are baseless statements, and if certain Congress members make them, it shows their lack of knowledge about the history of Congress and parliamentary democracy,” he said.

Pranab Mukherjee. This is low-level politics and a grave. insult to the Prime Minister who brought the economic revolution to the country,” the Congress representative had said.
“This decision of the government is also a gift to Pranab Mukherjee for his love for the Sangh. Pranab Mukherjee bowed his head at the Nagpur headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and conferred the title of Dhartiputra on the founder of the Sangh, Hedgewar. Mukherjee had also played an important role in installing Savarkar’s photograph in Parliament,” he added.
