Nueva Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi left a note in the Book of Visitors of the Smruti Mandir in Nagpur, which has monuments of rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewarand second Sarsanghchalak (boss) MS Golwalkar.
He said that Sangh’s monument served as an “inspiration” to “step forward in the service to the nation.”
“I lean with a deep reverence to the venerated Dr. Hedgewar Ji and the venerable Guru Ji, remembering his legacy. Visiting this temple of memories fills me with inspiration. The values of Indian culture, nationalism and organizational dedication are incorporated in this sacred place, inspiring us to give advance in the service to the nation,” he said.
The note written in Hindi and signed by Prime Minister Modi also said: “This place of these two strong pillars of Sangh is a source of energy for Lakhs of volunteers dedicated to the service of the country. That the glory of the Indian mother continues to shine forever through our efforts!”
The prime minister paid floral taxes to RSS founder. He also met the head of the Hindu organization Mohan Bhagwat.
This was his first visit to the monument since he became the prime minister. In particular, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had also visited the monument during his term on August 27, 2000.
The visit of Prime Minister Modi coincides with Sangh’s ‘Pratipada’ program, celebrating Gudi Padwa, the beginning of the Hindu New Year.
