Inflation trends for eggs, bread and more during the Trump administration

Are the policies of President Donald Trump knocking down grocery invoices?

The prices of the groceries have increased during most of the last five years, since the bottlenecks of the supply chain, the war in Ukraine and the excessive taking of earnings here in the United States have exercised tension in the wallets of the consumers.

Trump campaigned largely on the price of food in 2024, promising that if he were chosen, he would reduce the costs. But the price of eggs, a frequent substitute for inflation during the campaign, remains more than $ 1 more than it was a year ago, and Trump admitted in December that it will be “difficult” to reduce prices.

Follow the price trends using the table below. NBC News is monitoring the average sale price for eggs, chicken, bread, ground meat and other common groceries, along with how much those prices have changed since April 2024.

The prices of the edible prices, provided by the Global Marketing NIQ investigation firm, are collected from real payment prices paid throughout the country in supermarkets, pharmacies, mass merchants, selected dollar stores, selected warehouse clubs and military commissioners.

The monthly consumer price index of the Office of Labor Statistics, which uses human data collectors and includes other categories of food products, is another resource for average price data.
