An Indian fisherman died for suicide in a prison in the Karachi area in the Malir area on Wednesday, according to the prison administration.
Indian fishermen are frequently arrested for illegal fishing, since it is said that the maritime limit is poorly marked at some points, and many ships lack technology to fix their precise location.

“In the barracks, all Indian prisoners are confined,” said Husain. “He [the fisherman] I went to the bathroom on Tuesday night and ended his life. “
The jailer added that the service doctor examined the prisoner and declared him dead at 2:20 am later, a magistrate conducted the investigation and ordered that the body stay in the cold storage installation of the Edhi Foundation in Sohrab Goth until they conclude legal formalities and additional orders.
The deceased was arrested in February 2022 by the docks police and was imprisoned in Malir by the magistrate of West Karachi at the end of that month.
Last month, up to 22 Indian fishermen, who were released from Malir’s prison on February 22, were delivered to the Indian authorities at the Wagah border.
The fishermen were released after completing their prayers for involuntarily crossing Pakistan’s territorial waters.
