The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said Tuesday that India would take the appropriate measures to repatriate illegal immigrants one day after having conversations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The president of the United States also said that Prime Minister Modi was ready to visit the states “at some point in February.” The Ministry of External Affairs has not yet provided confirmation about this.
“He discussed immigration with Modi. India will do the right thing when it comes to recovering illegal immigrants,” Reuters told Trump as he said.
“I had a long conversation with him this morning (Monday). He will come to the White House, next month, we probably have a very good relationship with India,” journalists aboard Air Force One.
Trump’s statements arrive a day after the two leaders discussed issues related to global peace, security in the Indo-Pacific, the Middle East and Europe along with a fair bilateral commercial relationship.
“Happy to talk to my dear friend President @realdonaldtrump @potus. He congratulated for his historic second term. We are committed to a mutually beneficial and reliable association. We will work together for the well -being of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security “said Prime Minister Modi after the conversations concluded.
The White House issued a statement of the conversations held between the two leaders saying that the two “discussed the expansion and deepening of cooperation.”
“Today, President Donald J. Trump made a productive call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India. The two leaders discussed the expansion and deepening of cooperation. They also discussed a variety of regional issues, including security in the Indo- Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe, “he said.
“The president emphasized the importance of India increased their acquisition of security equipment manufactured in the United States and advancing towards a fair bilateral relationship. Leaders discussed plans so that Prime Minister Modi visits the White House, underlining the strength of the friendship and strategic ties between our nations.
