New Delhi: In a special gesture, French president Emmanuel Macron personally escorted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Marseille airport when he left for Washington, marking the conclusion of his three -day visit to France. The two leaders exchanged a warm hug before Modi boarded their flight.
During his visit, Modi participated in a series of meetings and high profile events, strengthening cooperation in artificial intelligence, commerce, energy and cultural exchanges. In a publication about X, he expressed his gratitude to Macron and the people of France, calling for the “historical and productive” visit.
One of the most prominent aspects of the trip was Modi’s participation in the AI action summit, which co -presided with Macron. The summit, which was attended by global leaders and technology executives, focused on developing an international framework for artificial intelligence that promotes transparency, trust and human development. A joint declaration of India and France reaffirmed its commitment to ensure that the development of AI respects human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Modi and Macron also reviewed the Horizon 2047 roadmap, a strategic association initiative between the two nations. His discussions covered several sectors, including defense, space, Civil Nuclear Cooperationand public health. In particular, France agreed to organize the new Indian companies in their prestigious Estación F incubator, promoting a deeper technological and business collaboration.
The visit included a stop in Marseille, where Modi and Macron inaugurated the first Indian consulate in France and toured the international project of thermonuclear experimental reactors, an important scientific initiative in which India is partner. Modi also paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who fought in World War and II in the Cemetery of the Mazares War.
In the Civil Nuclear Front, the two parties welcomed the first meeting of the Special Working Group on Civil Nuclear Energy. The agreements were signed in small modular and advanced modular reactors, together with initiatives to train nuclear professionals. Cooperation in nuclear energy was highlighted as a promising area of future collaboration, particularly in satisfying AI’s promoted energy demands.
