In the first case, Patel, a fugitive searched by the Gujarat police for cheating, falsification and criminal conspiracy, was extradited to India from the United States on January 29. In the second case, Sundaram, extradited to India from Bangkok on January 29, had allegedly deceived the depositors of RS 87.5 million rupees. He was arrested at Kolkata airport and delivered to Tamil Nadu Police.
