Noorani’s mother, Amina Bashir, had presented a plea before the IHC for the recovery of her two brothers.
She said her two children were “disappeared by the house of Islamabad at 1:05 am by” apparently unknown officials “to the country’s intelligence agencies. “It is quite clear that his brothers have been subjected to forced disappearance as a clear retaliation aimed at silencing the journalism of Noorani,” said the petition.
The petition cited the Government, the Ministry of Defense, the IGP of Islamabad and the station of the station of the station (sho) of the police station of the noon as respondents in the case.
On Saturday, the IHC ordered the SH to present a detailed report on the disappearance. Meanwhile, the lawyer Imaan Hazir Mazari, who represents the petitioner, criticized the authorities for not registering a FIR despite the three days of approval from the incident.
During today’s hearing, Judge Raja Inam Ameen Minhas expressed his dissatisfaction with the Sho report and summoned Islamabad’s PGI on March 26.
The audience
The lawyer Imaan Hazir Mazari, who represents the petitioner, appeared before the court along with the mother and sister of Noorani.
The mother exploded in tears during the process. She said: “Will the Superior Court be responsible if something happens to my children?”
The sho filed its report to the Court. He said: “We have been using all available sources,” he added that the police had carried out Geofencing, investigated the call details records and reviewed the cameras near the house.
Judge Minhas told the police officer that he should have presented his findings, but not.
The Islamabad police lawyer said there was no request to register a case.
“We are not discussing that at this time,” the judge replied, adding that there was an alternative forum for that purpose.
Mazari asked that if the police had not submitted a report for five days, then how were they carrying out the investigation?
Judge Minhas replied: “I am calling the PPE. He will carry out an investigation.”
Mazari said they had spent six days since the incident, but the police had not yet done anything.
“I can only order according to my authority,” said the judge.
Mazari said that intelligence agencies had to be blamed in this case. She claimed that Noorani’s brothers were kidnapped due to their recent reports.
Judge Minhas observed that he would not approve any order that could not be implemented.
Mazari asked the judge to postpone the case until today or tomorrow. The Court postponed the hearing of the case until March 26.
