He said that the FM Muttaqi Afghano expressed “concern and disappointment for the forced deportation of Afghan refugees and abuse by certain Pakistani authorities, calling for such provocative and harmful behavior for bilateral relations,” he added that he urged a change in the focus of the situation.
He said that Nizamani “recognized the concerns and said the problem would be shared with the relevant authorities.”
The statement added that both parties emphasized the importance of taking mutually constructive steps and encouraging high -level visits and dialogue to strengthen bilateral ties.
More than 860,000 Afghan have left Pakistan since September 2023, with more than half a million in Afghanistan through border crossings in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to government and UN data.
Pakistan has been carrying out a phase repatriation of Afghans living in the country.
During the first phase, which began in 2023, the government sent back to Afghan citizens who resided illegally in Pakistan.
In the second phase, which began earlier this year, registered Afghan refugees were asked to transport the Afghan citizen letters that Pakistan left before April 1.
According to data published by the International Migration Organization, from September 15, 2023 until April 5, 2025, 861,763 Afghan have returned to their country.
The Afghan interim government has asked the United Nations and international organizations that guarantee the dignified return of Pakistan Afghan refugees.
