At least 30 people died and up to 60 were injured in a stampede at Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.
Previously, Prime Minister Modi described Maha Kumbh as a unity symbol and a reflection of the evolution of the nation.
“The Maha Kumbh has concluded. A great ritual of the unit was completed. When the awareness of a nation wakes up, released from the shackles of centuries of the mentality of slavery and begins to breathe with a new vitality, such a scene arises as we witness in the kumbh of the unit in Prayagraj after January 13,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi also mentioned the mythological and spiritual importance of Shringverpur, a place in Prayagraj associated with Lord Ram and Nishadraj.
“In the same region of Prayagraj, there is the sacred area of Shringverpur, a symbol of unity, harmony and love, where Lord Ram met Nishadraj. This meeting in our history is like a confluence of devotion and good will. This pilgrimage site in Prayagraj continues to inspire us with lessons of unity and harmony.”
Maha Kumbh 2025 concluded on February 26 and witnessed millions of devotees who participated in rituals, prayers and sacred sauces, reinforcing their cultural and religious meaning.
