With a precise march and an innovative armament parade, China celebrated 80 years since the surrender of Japan in World War II with a great show of military power in Beijing on Wednesday.
Dressed in a gray and standing suit through the sunroof of an official limousine, President Xi Jinping marked the beginning of the parade in the Tiananmen square, which attracted multitudes of veterans and decorated politicians around the world.
