The former drummer of the Heavy Metal band The Devil Wears Prada was among those killed in a small plane crash in San Diego on Thursday, his father told TMZ.
According to that report, Daniel Williams, 39, was one of the various people killed after Cessna’s private crashed into a neighborhood of Military Housing in San Diego on Thursday morning.
There were six people aboard the plane and the police said that at least two were killed in the accident, but they have not appointed Williams as a victim. The authorities say they do not expect to find survivors.
Williams’ father, Larry Williams, told TMZ that he was sure that his son was on the plane, but that the family had not received confirmation from the authorities.
The former drummer published an image of the cabin of the plane in his Instagram history on Wednesday, shortly before takeoff.
Responding to Williams’ death reports, the band published an image of him on his Instagram account on Thursday.
“There are no words. We owe you all. I love you forever,” the band wrote.
The small plane left the Teterboro airport in New Jersey, on the outskirts of New York City, at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, Eliott Simpson, a researcher at the National Transport Security Office, said Thursday. He stopped in Wichita, Kansas, to refuel before continuing with his final destination in San Diego, he said.
The plane reached an electric line two miles south of the airport before colliding against the residential area, Simpson added.
The accident caused the destruction of multiple homes in the military housing area and led several cars to catch fire.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed in a statement that six people were on board when Cessna 550 crashed around 3:45 am near Montgomery-Gibbs executive airport, north of San Diego.
Among the other victims includes the co -founder of Sound Talent Group Dave Shapiro, said a company spokesman.
“We are devastated by the loss of our co -founder, colleagues and friends,” said the company in a statement. “Our hearts are with their families already affected by today’s tragedy.”
Shapiro, 42, led an impressive list of artists, including Vanessa Carlton, Pierce The Veil, Lamb of God, I Prevaly, Sum 41 and Hanson, according to the musical group website.
“No one could say a bad word about him that he was just a beautiful guy,” said Lionel Conway, a friend of Shaipro’s, Today’s show on Friday.
