Harassment scam at Faisalabad hospital: Action launched against two doctors, nine others – Pakistan

LAHORE: Following a great harassment scam at the Faisalabad Children’s Hospital that involves an organized gang of 11 officials, including two doctors, the Punjab government has initiated an important action against them under the Law of Efficiency, Discipline and Responsibility of Punjab (Peeda) employees.

The initial investigation committee of the Department of Health had them guilty of harassment and declared that it was an organized gang that harassed hospital employees.

“The competent authority, due to consideration of the facts of the case, is of the opinion considered that there are sufficient reasons to proceed against the employees under Section 3 of the Law of Efficiency, Discipline and Responsibility of Punjab, 2006, because of the following positions of misconduct and inefficiency,” says the report of the investigation.

He declared that a dental surgeon (BPS-17) was the key member of the gang. “You used your authority to press employees to personal relationships and contributed to a hostile work environment,” reads the report that is addressed to the doctor.

He declared that a medical officer (BPS-17) supported and protected the gang, ignored his complaints (of the victims), refused to take measures and allowed the harmful culture of misconduct to continue.

Two security supervisors were accused of negligence for not taking measures against the harassment of female staff and negligence, saying that both supported the group involved in harassment. A dental assistant was accused of being a member of the gang and helping the group in intimidation, violating the ethics of the workplace.

The report declared that a driver, two Ward children, a dental assistant, a neighborhood servant and a camillero also participated in the harassment of female staff, pressing them in unwanted friendships and not maintaining professional behavior in the workplace.

“The competent authority, in the exercise of the powers conferred to him under the Law of Efficiency, Discipline and Responsibility of Punjab employees, has appointed Prof Dr. Astma Mushtaq, Professor of Pediatrics (BS-20), Children of section of section 5 of the section. issued by the Department of Health. He addressed the accused officials to present his written defense to the investigation officer within seven days.

“If they do not present their written defense within the prescribed period, it will be assumed that they have no defense to offer or have refused to offer the same and have accepted the charges,” says the notification.

The Health Department also appointed an additional medical superintendent (ADMN), from the Faisalabad Children’s Hospital as departmental representative in the investigation.
