‘Grenades, sleeping bags, eatables recovered’: Security forces intensify hunt for terrorists in J&K’s Kathua | India News

New Delhi: The security forces in Jammu and the Katua district of Cashmiro found four magazines M4 carbines loaded, two grenades, a bulletproof jacket, sleeping bags and food supplies on Monday while intensified their search for terrorists that hide in the area.
This occurs when the search operation, now on its third day, continues in the forested areas of the Katua district to locate a group of infiltrating terrorists, authorities said on Tuesday, according to the PTI news agency.
Police Director Nalin Prabhat began the operation on Sunday night in the Hiranagar sector after a confrontation between security forces and hidden terrorists in a nursery.
Today early in the morning, as the security forces advanced more deeply in the cordoned area, the shots exploded. The authorities clarified that the troops made caution shots after detecting a suspicious movement.
The security forces deployed an army helicopter on the area, while the joint army units, including commands specially equipped with heavy weapons, tracker dogs, drones and unmanned aerial vehicles, continued looking for terrorists who believe they are trapped within the area.
The Special Operations Group (SOG) launched the operation after receiving intelligence on terrorists that hide in a ‘dhok’, a local enclosure, in a nursery in the village of Sanyal, about five km from the Pakistan border, the authorities said.
The hidden terrorists responded with intense shots towards the police unit, which resulted in a fierce exchange that lasted more than half an hour, they said. Additional forces were rapidly deployed to capture terrorists, who supposedly infiltrated Saturday through the ravines OA through a recently built tunnel.
The authorities did not report that there are no casualties of the initial exchange, and the area remained under strict security throughout the night before the forces advanced at dawn.
Although there is no more contact with the terrorists, Monday’s search revealed four M4 Carbine magazines loaded, two grenades, a bulletproof jacket, sleeping bags, chiste of songs, food packages and several polyethylene bags, which will be examined by the pump removal equipment, officials said.
Intelligence suggests that two separate groups, each that comprise at least five terrorists, infiltrate Saturday. Local residents organized food provisions for security personnel and representatives of the media parked in the outer cord.
The women of the village who met with firewood saw approximately five terrorists who took refuge in the large nursery area, as reported by the officials.
A seven -year -old girl suffered minor injuries when a bullet touched her arm. It was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital.
According to PTI, Anita Devi, 48, around 4:30 pm on Sunday, reported how armed terrorists arrested her husband while collecting firewood in the nursery.
“The terrorists kept my husband at gunpoint and asked me to approach me. But my husband pointed out to run and I ran. One of the terrorists tried to stop, but I started screaming, which attracted the attention of two more people who were cutting herb,” said Anita Devi.
