Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that all the efforts and initiatives of the current Pakistan government lined up closely with the vision and philosophy of Chinese President Xi Jinping who were anchored in the progress and prosperity of the Chinese nation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in China yesterday to attend the Summit of the Council of State Chiefs (CHS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). He is ready to meet with XI and Prime Minister Li Qiang, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO).
Going today to the students and members of the Faculty of the University of Tianjin, the prime minister urged the Pakistani students who currently study there to obtain the last knowledge and technology with a hard commitment and work.
In his speech, which was also broadcast on national television channels, the prime minister said that Pakistan fully supported the philosophy and vision of President XI.
He pointed out that Chinese leadership had a long -term “inspiring” strategic planning for the country’s progress while maintaining the well -being of its people in their hearts.
“President XI’s visionary leadership transmitted to everyone that lasting friendship could be achieved through multilateralism and not through unilateralism, while shared progress and prosperity could be conceived through the work of joint equipment and not through exclusive rights,” added Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The members of the delegation, the ambassadors and the prime minister officials were also present on the occasion.
The prime minister also mentioned that taking 800 million people out of poverty had been the most imposing achievement of China, which was possible due to the historical transformation under the visionary leadership of President XI. He raised the commitment of the Chinese president to the well -being of his people and with the construction of a shared destination and future.
Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed that the lasting friendship between the two nations not only resisted the tests of time but also faced enormous challenges of history.
“The commitment and clear vision in our minds are supported; together find a shared destination,” he said, adding that all designs to maintain these two great friendly countries were defeated by their united actions and a clear understanding.
The prime minister said that the friendship proven in the time of Pak-China was built by its major generations through unwavering commitment, honesty and incredible sincerity, “sitting the foundations of a friendship to stand in pillars of mutual trust.”
He affirmed that the friendship between the two nations would last forever, regardless of the challenges on their way. He pointed out that his ties were as old as the silk route, and as deep as religious ties between Gandhara, Taxila and Beijing.
He listed the historical facts that forged strongest ties, including Pakistan, being the first Muslim country to recognize the Popular Republic of China and the first direct flight from Pia from Karachi to Beijing about 60 years ago.
The prime minister praised that due to his hard work, sincerity and tireless efforts, Chinese leadership and his people had transformed the country into the second largest economy and military power in the world, and added that Pakistan was proud of his friend’s achievement.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the titular government in Pakistan was also committed to eradicating corruption and poverty, and said that “a single case of corruption had not emerged” during the mandate of the current government.
“We have a destiny shared with China and we must learn from the knowledge taught by Chinese universities to bring economical [and] Agricultural prosperity for the people of Pakistan, ”he said.
The prime minister expressed his satisfaction that more than 200 people from several parts of Pakistan were studying at the University of Tianjin. He asked them to use their experience in Pakistan for the well -being, progress and prosperity of their people.
By pointing out that the university was considered “a cradle of great learning” and qualify students as ambassadors of Pakistan, the prime minister expressed the optimism that, due to their arduous work and dedication, would return to Pakistan as architects for their future.
“Above all, you are the carriers of the Torch of Pakistan-China’s friendship,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz.
The prime minister said that students would become great experts and serve as assistant hands not only in China’s progress but also for the welfare and progress of Pakistan.
He noted that about 60 percent of the population in Pakistan included young people, “which is a great challenge,” and emphasized that they should reap demographic dividends to unlock this potential and draw new horizons in collaboration with China.
The prime minister said the government had sent 1,000 graduates of Pakistan agriculture to China to learn modern techniques. In addition, around 30,000 students from Pakistan had been receiving education and training in China.
He also described vocational training as a criticism of building and training young people in different parts of Pakistan. The prime minister also remembered his memories of his visit to the university in 2017.
Shehbaz to attend SCO, to meet with XI
Prime Minister Shehbaz leads a delegation from Pakistan to participate in the SCO Summit. The SCO includes China, India, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzista, Tayikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus. Other 16 countries are affiliated as observers or “dialogue partners.”
The leaders of Mongolia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkiye, Egypt, Maldives, Myanmar and others, as well as the United Nations Chief and Heads of several regional and international organizations, will also attend as part of the expanded format.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is scheduled to reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to promote multilateralism, improve regional security and advance sustainable development, the FO said in a statement previously. It is also expected to have bilateral meetings with other OCS leaders and invited members to “strengthen diplomatic relations.”
The prime minister would also hold meetings with President XI and Prime Minister Li Qiang “during which multifaceted dimensions of the bilateral cooperation of Pakistan-China” would be discussed, according to the FO.
“It would also attend the military parade with President XI and other world leaders who stop in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the world’s anti -fascist war,” added the FO.
Prime Minister Shehbaz, according to the statement, “would interact with the reputed Chinese businessmen and corporate executives to discuss the bilateral ties of trade, economic and investment.” He would also go to a Pakistan-China B2B investment conference in Beijing.
The statement stressed that the visit was part of the exchanges at the leadership level between the two countries.
“The importance attached by the two countries is manifested to further deepen their strategic cooperative association of every climate, to reaffirm support in respective central interests, Advanced Phase II of CPEC and maintain regular communication on important regional and global developments,” said Fo.
Last week, the government said that the visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz to China will mark the formal launch of the second phase of the Chinese-Pakistan economic corridor (CPEC-II), focused on industrial cooperation, after a delay of approximately five years.
