The Government will update its list of proscribed and prohibited organizations with the help of US agencies, such as the State Department, the Minister of State for Law and the Barrimer of Justice Aqeel Malik, said on Saturday, adding that people linked to these groups will be subject to prohibitions of trips throughout the United States.
The Punjab Department of Interior published a list of 84 proscribed organizations on Friday and urged citizens not to give charity to these unregistered and prohibited entities.
“Providing any type of assistance to prohibited organizations is a crime under the 1997 Anti-Terrorism Law,” said the Punjab government statement, adding that the law would punish those who help prohibited organizations involved in terrorism and anti-state activities.
Talk about Dawnnewstv program ‘Doosra Rukh’Aqeel said that there is no risk of a prohibition of traveling in the Pakistani.
“People do not need to worry that there is any prohibition of Pakistan visa or that the entrance is denied,” he said. “We are not seeing a direct prohibition that Pakistani enters the United States.”
The minister said that the lists of organizations prohibited in Pakistan and the United States must be updated. “The list of banned groups must be updated, and I am sure that the State Department will also update its own lists,” said Aqeel.
“We will share information with them, there is intelligence to share, and according to our list, they will update their lists on Pakistani organizations also prohibited,” said the minister. “If any individual maintains links with these organizations, their entry can be denied and their visas can be revoked.”
In response to a question, the minister reiterated that ordinary Pakistani will not be denied entry to the United States. “I don’t think there is any general prohibition or restriction for Pakistani citizens traveling to the United States,” he said.
