Nueva Delhi: The Minister of Aviation of the Union, Ram Mohan Naidu, will launch the General Directorate of Civil Aviation on Thursday (DGCA) “Electronic Personnel License (EPL) for pilots, which makes India the second country in the world to implement EPL for flight crew, according to the regulator. The pilots can simply carry their licenses on their phones and show it anywhere in the world, since the same is accepted in all countries. The EPL implementation for the flight crew is in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (178a amendment to Icao Annex 1) ”, Sources said.
Electronic licenses are linked to leisure job aid, whose purpose “is to provide the necessary information to civil aviation security inspectors while verifying an EPL of a pilot issued by the issuing authority during a ramp inspection” .
