Islamabad: The Government has decided to increase operations against foreign citizens that illegally reside in Pakistan, a month after the expiration of a deadline established for around 44,000 Afghan national approved for relocation to a third country.
The decision was taken at the third meeting of the Anti -Terrorism Committee and hardened the State Committee that was held here under the presidency of the Minister of the Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, on Saturday.
The government had already announced that it would deport thousands of Afghan refugees who expected resettlement in the West if the possible host countries did not relocate them on April 30. Tens of thousands of Afghan arrived in Pakistan fearing a remuneration after the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in August 2021, after the withdrawal of the forces led by the United States.

In addition, the progress in the digitalization of gasoline pumps to stop the sale of illegal fuel and smuggling was evaluated.
